When spring arrives, art blossoms all over the city of Palma. Art Palma Brunch was created as an initiative by the art galleries to bring the city’s art scene closer to collectors and art lovers from all over the island.
One April morning offers you a route taking in the galleries, museums, cultural centres and urban spaces of Palma’s old town, hosting new and unexpected exhibitions of contemporary art. The route includes some of the island’s most important art centres, including the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Es Baluard, the splendid cultural centre of Casal Solleric, the Caixa Forum and the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, which houses the famous artist’s studios and a collection of his paintings, drawings, sculptures and graphic art, together with a valuable collection of documents and part of his personal library.
Alongside this, there are thematic guided tours, live performances and art installations in the old town’s public spaces. And to make this initiative a truly exceptional event, young talents from Mallorca and artists from all around the world will accompany you along this spectacular and entertaining art route, presenting their works first-hand. An opportunity that you just can’t miss!
But now that we’ve talked about the art, where does the word ‘brunch’ fit in? At this event, this delicious invention halfway between breakfast and lunch takes on a special significance. Added to this unforgettable mega-dose of contemporary art are the exquisite delicacies served at all the venues along the tour. It’s hard to beat an event where you can admire the works of geniuses such as Miquel Barceló and Joan Miró and discover new talents from all over the world while you savour a superb brunch. A lesson in art and class that’s also completely free.
