It is one of the most visited autumn festivals, not only because of the obvious appeal of the central theme of the festival (sweets), but also because Esporles is one of the most beautiful villages of the Sierra de Tramuntana.

The stands of the Fira Dolça (Sweet Festival) fill the streets of the old city center of Esporles on the first weekend of October. This is a festival that is especially expected by the children, because a whole world of cakes and sweets in all shapes, colors and flavors opens up to them.

The whole town is committed to this event, and even the façade of the town hall is adorned with a motif that is connected with the sweets. As is not the case, the classics of Mallorcan baking are not lacking: ensaimadas, crespells, wind bags, ice cream, robiols, cocas ...

The streets of Esporles are transformed into bakeries for several days, where you can learn how to prepare turrón, panellets or chocolates. Well-known bakers of the town and from other municipalities of Mallorca are pleased to show you the secrets of the rich bakery art of the island. There are demonstrations and fast courses in baking, cake contests, chocolate fountains and huge ensaimadas, which cover whole tables with the most imaginable ingredients.

The festival of sweets is also accompanied by a series of cultural and didactic events. The focus is on nutrition, allergies, food for people with celiac disease and others topics associated with sweets. The presentation of recipe books or books on the history of sweets, videos and films round off the feast ... On the streets the dance and jump dimonis (devils), parades, groups of xeremeriers (similar to a bagpipes), theater performances or handicrafts.

It is such a complete celebration that you do not need any other reason to visit the festival. Just come and enjoy!
