Bunyola (Mallorca)

Bunyola is a village located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. Its natural beauty captivates visitors who come to this Mallorcan town to discover the essence of the island. It is a town surrounded by mountains and forests. The Sa Comuna forest, to the north of the village, is in fact the largest in Mallorca and is full of ethnological artefacts, such as bread ovens, cisterns and silos. Its pine forests, garrigues (areas of dry shrubby vegetation) and holm oak groves make it an ideal place for climbing, hiking and cycle touring.

Indeed, the natural surroundings and the beautiful scenery are some of the main attractions of this quiet mountain village, but they are not the only ones. Strolling through the narrow streets of the old quarter of Bunyola is a pleasant, peaceful experience, with its typical village houses, its church and the central square.

In addition, on the outskirts of Bunyola you will find the historic house of Alfàbia, the former home of the Moorish viceroy of Mallorca, Ben-Abet. The house has a variety of influences ranging from Moorish to Baroque. Its beautiful gardens were designed in the 13th century by the Muslim governor of Inca. Strolling among the walls of plants and the sound of water running through the fountains provides a pleasant sensation of peace and tranquillity.
