Fornalutx (Mallorca)

The pleasure of il dolce far niente takes on its full meaning in Fornalutx. This is one of the most authentic, well-kept and beautiful mountain villages in Mallorca. In fact, it has received several awards for its conservation and been recognised as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

It is in the north-west of the island and its strategic location above the valley of Sóller, its cobbled streets and stone buildings, the scent of the valley's lemon and orange trees in spring, make a visit to this little Mallorcan mountain village a real experience.

It is highly recommended to let yourself get carried away and lose yourself in its narrow streets, visit the town hall, which has a 17th century defence tower, and the church, and try the local pastries in the Plaça d'España square, which is surrounded by cafés and shops.

Fornalutx is also an ideal place for hiking or cycling, due to its location in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range and its proximity to the GR-221 trail, the Ruta de la Pedra en Sec, which crosses the Mallorcan mountain range from east to west.
