Municipality of Mallorca
Santa Eugènia is a pretty, picturesque village only 10 kilometres from Palma de Mallorca. It stands in the shelter of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, in an agricultural area known as Pla de Mallorca. The historic centre is typical of a small village in the centre of the island, with narrow streets, stone houses and green shutters. The municipality includes the villages of Ses Alqueries, Ses Coves and Ses Olleries, to which visits are highly recommended. In fact, the town council offers some interesting cultural routes through each of its small villages and the hill of Puig de Son Seguí.
Its natural surroundings make Santa Eugènia an ideal place for a leisurely stroll. This is, in fact, its main attraction, as it is perfect for walking or cycling along the numerous hiking trails of the area, like the one that leads to the Puig de Santa Eugènia hill or the Lourdes cave.
Santa Eugènia is also a land of wines, making it ideal for savouring the marvellous wines produced in this part of Mallorca. There is an enormous choice of wineries and vineyards, some of which continue to make wine in the most traditional way. A very pleasant way to discover the island's wines is while tasting its traditional cuisine.
