Municipality of Mallorca
It can be said loud and clear that Santanyí is in one of the most beautiful natural settings in Mallorca. It has a privileged location, in the south-east of the island, close to the Mondragó Natural Park, and its municipal district contains more than 40 kilometres of coastline featuring typical Mediterranean scenery: transparent turquoise waters await you in Santanyí. Perhaps because it has a special Mediterranean charm, it attracts many artists every year in search of peace, quiet and inspiration.
Santanyí has an artistic, bohemian atmosphere that can be sensed on its small back streets, where there are several galleries and art workshops. The main square, the Plaça Major, where the town hall and the church are also located, is the place where the inhabitants of this southern town gather and where a market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays and during the festivities for its patron saint.
One of the plans not to be missed is to visit the Cabrera archipelago, the only National Park in the Balearic Islands. You can go on an excursion by boat from the port of Colonia de Sant Jordi. Here, ramble along the coast, where you will find the Mondragó Natural Park, Cala Llombards, the Ses Salines lighthouse and the picturesque port of Cala Figuera.
