Selva (Mallorca)

Selva is a unique mountain village in the north of Mallorca, sheltered by the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The inhabitants of this corner of the island have managed to retain its traditional charm, making it a place to experience yet another version of the multifaceted island of Mallorca.

Selva offers many possibilities for explorers of authentic Mallorca. A good idea is to start with a leisurely stroll around the village. The Gothic church of Sant Llorenç is one of its main attractions, with its 42 steps that accentuate the monumental nature of the façade. It is also interesting to observe the carved limestone figures on the Baroque cross of Valella, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, and to visit the charming villages of Caimari, Moscari, Biniamar and Binibona, which belong to the municipality of Selva.

Every Wednesday Selva holds a weekly market. The Plaça Major becomes a festival of colours, smells and authentic Mallorcan flavours, with local products and unique handicrafts. It is also very close to Inca, where you can finish off a day's shopping.
