A museum with a permanent collection of local or Mallorca-based artists, in which one can admire works from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions aimed at bringing contemporary art to the general public.

The museum is located on the ground floor of the old manor house of Can Planes. It focuses on the popularization and didactic dissemination of contemporary art with guided tours for schools as a focus. More than a hundred works of Mallorcan artists, who live in Mallorca between 1970 and 1990, constitute the inventory of its collection. The museum also organizes exhibitions of its own production or in collaboration with other institutions, museums and cultural centers.

In the adjoining Sala Blanca (White Room), theme-related exhibitions are organized. They refer to the culture, the geography and the heritage of Mallorca: exhibitions of sculptural art are also organized, which are not suitable for the halls of the Museum of Contemporary Art because of their characteristics or dimensions.
