Festivities and traditions in Ibiza

It’s fiesta time in Ibiza! Traditional festivals are a mainstay of Ibizan culture and an excellent way to learn about the island, its people and customs. You’ll find fiestas with music, dance and colour galore, which attract visitors from all over the world. One of the most popular events is the festival of Sant Joan, which is celebrated every 24 June in different parts of the island. There is also a spectacular float parade during the Santa Eulalia festival in February, one of the island’s oldest. Another of the best-known festivals in Ibiza is that of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of fishermen, which takes place in July in the island's ports. The people of the island hold this festival very dear and they hold processions on land and in the sea to honour the virgin. Join in with Ibiza's festivities and experience the rich culture and traditions of the island!
