Natural landscapes

The great diversity of the islands makes many different activities possible. You can observe colorful migrating birds, walk on a path from hut to hut, bathe in a secluded rocky cove, build sand castles on a quiet beach, climb up vertical walls, slide down gorges, let yourself be carried by the wind on a yacht, cycling, diving Just watch the sunset from a vantage point in the west.

There are different classifications for each of these natural areas of these islands. The Cabrera Sea and Country National Park was declared as such in 1991, and its visit is a must. It gives you the chance to get to know the small harbor, go up to the castle, visit the museum and stay in the shelter in the old military barracks. In Colonia de Sant Jordi there are several boats to take you to the island. You can book whole multi-day trips. If you want to anchor your own boat or dive with oxygen bottles, you must obtain permission from the park management and respect the buoys.

The 6 Nature Parks of the Balearic Islands are s'Albufera de Mallorca (Muro-sa Pobla), Mondragó (Santanyí), s'Albufera of the Gray (Maó), sa Dragonera (Andratx), ses Salines (Eivissa-Formentera) and Península de Llevant Artà). You will receive information in the information centers. All these parks have a high ecological value and offer guided tours and maps.

The Serra de Tramuntana natural landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stretches from the north-east of Mallorca to the southwest. A good way to explore these mountains is to walk the trails in the mountain and spend a night in huts. Six of these huts are managed by the Balearic government: l'Avanor, Binifaldó, Gorg Blau, Cúber, Comuna de Caimari and Son Moragues. In addition, there are five other huts in the vicinity of the Bay of Alcúdia between the Cap de Menorca and Cap Ferrutx: Coll Baix, Son Real, Caseta des Oguers, s'Arenalet and Caseta de s'Alzina. 

The two protected areas, Es Vedrà (Sant Josep de saTalaia) and s'Albufereta de Mallorca (Alcúdia-Pollença), form two very different scenarios. The first protected area is a great show of sea and rocky islands, while the second protected area is a perfect wetland area for bird watching. 

Finally, the natural monuments of Torrent de Pareis and ses Fonts Ufanes, both on Mallorca, will show you the fascinating spectacle of nature and water. The Torrente offers you one of the emblematic tours of Majorca, without great difficulty, but also not totally risk-free, which requires a certain exercise and the appropriate equipment. 

The ses fonts Ufanes sources are on the Finca Gabellí Petit (Campanet), and can be seen after heavy rainfall. The drama of the water that paves its way is of great beauty. Where do we begin our excursion?
