Discover this beautiful sandy beach with fishing sheds in the nature reserve
The wide coast of the municipality of Sant Josep contains some of the most beautiful beaches of Ibiza, such as Cala Carbó, from whose banks you can discover the ancient fishing sheds that enlarge this pretty coastline.
It is a sand beach with a length of about 70 meters and a width of 40 meters, with a family atmosphere and services such as hammocks, umbrellas and restaurants - an ideal place to discover a day by the sea in an enclave of great beauty and all the conveniences. The beach is made of coarse sand or gravel, which is why bathing shoes are recommended. Because of its beauty and ecological value is the beach part of Es Vedrà, Es Vedranell and Illots de Ponent Nature Reserve, with sandy and rocky sea beds with Posidonia, where many fishes live. Especially on the rocky edges of the beach, covered with pines and vegetation, you can explore this seabed with the diving goggles. And do not miss the sunset, because at this time of day the transparent water of the sea takes wonderful orange and pink tones.
Cala Carbó is located between Caló de S'Oratge and Cala Truja, at the foot of Puig Pelat (245 meters high) and its name is reminiscent of the charcoal burners, which used to process many of the wood in the area to produce charcoal (carbó). To reach the beach from Sant Josep de Sa Talaia (9.4 km), follow the road signs to Cala Carbó. You can park near the beach.
