The unmistakable light of Ibiza, which has inspired and attracted artists from all over the world, can only be really perceived if you travel slowly and carefully. And we can think of no better way than by bicycle. Ibiza is an unmissable destination for bike enthusiasts. It boasts an extensive network of routes and trails that wind through its natural landscapes and offer the opportunity to explore it in a unique way. Don't think twice and come and discover the unrivalled light of the white island on two wheels.

Ibiza is a paradise for cycling enthusiasts and offers a unique opportunity to admire the breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the Ibizan countryside. There are a number of cycle touring routes in Ibiza, and both the roads and trails are well maintained, providing a safe environment for cyclists. One of the most famous routes is the one that circles the island, covering around 170 kilometres and passing through emblematic spots such as the beaches of Las Salinas and Cala Jondal, as well as the charming villages of Sant Antoni and Sant Josep, next to the Ses Salines Natural Park.

Cycle touring in Ibiza

The most accessible routes include the Port des Torrent route, which runs through pine forests and along cliffs overlooking the sea. This route takes cyclists on a 15 km route along the beaches of Cala Bassa and Platges de Comte, where they can cool off in crystal clear waters and marvel at the Torre den Rovira, an ancient defensive coastal tower.

The island offers a variety of medium-level cycling routes, such as the one that runs along the northeastern beaches, from Cala Mestella to Pou des Lleó, starting and finishing in the charming village of Sant Carles de Peralta. This route includes a stop at the Torre d'en Valls, an old defensive tower with panoramic views of the island of Tagomago, as well as the possibility of visiting the church and ethnographic museum of Sant Carles de Peralta.

For more experienced and adventurous cyclists, Ibiza offers demanding routes that will test your skills and physical endurance. One of these routes, which runs along the northwest coast of the island, from the Buscastell valley to Camp Vell and Cala d'Albarca, offers impressive views of the cliffs of na Xamena and Benirràs beach, before ending at Puig d'en Teixidor and Can Truy.

The MBT Ibiza Tour

Each year, Ibiza hosts a variety of cyling-related sporting events, such as the Vuelta a Ibiza en Mountain Bike. This event brings together hundreds of enthusiasts ready to travel the perimeter of the island on two wheels. These types of events are held in the spring, autumn and winter months, and participants have the opportunity to ride through farmland, hills and pine forests, while enjoying the breathtaking views of picturesque Ibicencan coves lapped by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean.

Exploring Ibiza by bike is a unique experience that allows cyclists to discover the authentic beauty and diversity of Ibiza, while enjoying the outdoors and immersing themselves in nature at its purest.
