The city of Eivissa (Ibiza) is a cosmopolitan Mediterranean port full of contrasts. It is the island's largest city and administrative capital. Known worldwide for its night-life, it has, however, much more to offer visitors.

One of the main attractions of Eivissa is Dalt Vila, the best preserved fortress on the Mediterranean. That is why it was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999. The fort was built in the 16th century to protect the population from constant attacks and looting. Walking along its cobbled streets, savouring its history and admiring the beautiful views is a unique experience. Within its walls there are several buildings of interest, such as the Cathedral, the Church of Santo Domingo, the Town Hall and the Archaeological Museum, where you can discover traces of the civilisations that have inhabited the island. There is also the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Puget Museum. And there are several charming bars and cafés along the route where you can stop for a drink and a rest.

Outside the fortress, one of the recommended visits is the necropolis of Puig des Molins, which dates back to the Punic period and is home to the goddess Tanit. Puig des Molins functioned as a cemetery throughout antiquity and more than 3,000 underground tombs have been counted.
