Sant Josep de sa Talaia is the largest municipality on Ibiza and has more than 80 kilometres of coastline. It is in the south of the island and its municipal district is home to other picturesque white Ibizan villages, with beautiful churches, such as Sant Jordi, Sant Agustí and Es Cubells. The highest point of the island, Sa Talaia, 475 metres high, is in the centre of the municipality and offers one of the most spectacular landscapes on Ibiza.

The presence of numerous archaeological sites is evidence that Sant Josep has been inhabited since ancient times. One of them is the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, which has been a World Heritage Site since 1999. It was founded in the 7th century BC by the first civilisations to inhabit the island.

Sant Josep de sa Talaia has some very attractive routes through its natural spaces that will delight hiking enthusiasts. In addition to the beautiful Mediterranean coves, the coastline is dotted with imposing cliffs and islets, such as the famous, mystical Es Vedrà. In this area you will find the Ses Salines natural park and the Es Vedrà nature reserve, Es Vedranell and the western islets. Beneath the surface of the sea, a huge meadow of posidonia, sea grass, of great ecological importance and also declared a World Heritage Site, sways to the rhythm of the current.
