BOAT TRIPS.

If you enjoy sailing or viewing the island from another perspective, one way of enjoying the Mediterranean sea and its amazing landscape is on a boat trip. We recommend you visit Cabrera Island. Boats depart daily from the Port of Colonia Sant Jordi. There’s a huge variety of hiking excursions and routes for nature lovers on this island

Another extremely popular option is the boat trip to Sa Dragonera Natural Park. The park can be accessed by boats leaving daily from Sant Elm, Santa Ponça, Peguera and the Port of Andratx, with the trip taking around 20 minutes. Lots of companies offer this service. Click to see the list.

YOU DESERVE MENORCA...

This island’s pleasant climate and peaceful waters lapping its sandy beaches make it a perfect place for a visit. The stunning coastline of coves and beaches sketches a hugely diverse landscape, with cliffs and ravines in the south bathed by transparent waters, and a rugged landscape and colder waters in the north.

As there are many sandy beaches, we’ll just mention some of the most famous. Cala Morell, Cala Algaiarens, Cala Pregonda, Fornells and Cala Mesquida are on the northern coast. Son Saura, Cala en Turqueta, Macarelleta, Binigaus, Cala Galdana and Cala Mitjana are on the southern coast. They are all accessible by car. But if you’d prefer to walk for a while, the island has plenty of small, more secluded beaches, for example Trebalúger in the south and Cala Pilar and Cala Pregonda in the north (a walk of around 45 minutes)

KNOWN AS THE GREEN ISLAND

Although the beaches are a safe bet, there are a multitude of attractions on Menorca, such as the Natural Park of s’Albufera des Grau, an extremely valuable ecological wetland, in the east. It’s a haven of peace of immense natural and historic value. The destination Starlight, a pure environmental treasure and one of the best places to see the starry night sky, is also well worth a visit.

STROLLING AROUND THE STREETS OF CIUTADELLA AND MAÓ

But there’s so much else to do in Menorca, , taking a break for a drink or a bite to eat on a terrace and soaking up the atmosphere of the island’s fishing harbours. Other recommended activities for all the family are climbing up Monte Toro, the island’s highest mountain and visiting prehistoric archaeological sites, since Menorca is a fantastic open-air archaeological museum with exceptional heritage.

Ibiza, known as the island of a thousand faces, has an extraordinarily beautiful coastline formed of beaches and coves. There are 32 signposted green routes on Formentera that will help you to get a different perspective of the island

Activities like hiking and cycling are excellent ways to see rural Formentera, immerse yourself in nature, discover its towns and villages and visit its legendary Mola and Barbaria lighthouses. The island is very easy to explore on foot or by bike. There are 12 cycle tourism routes suitable for everyone, even the youngest members of the family. You can even ride around the island on horseback on trails that will take you to Formentera’s countryside. 

Excursions like Camí de Sa Pujada, in Es Caló will afford impressive panoramic views of the cliffs. Discover the thousand-year-old Ses Salines ponds, teeming with life or the picture-postcard landscape of Ses Illetes.

THE VARADEROS OF FORMENTERA

When talking about the Formentera landscape, we mustn’t forget to mention its varaderos, wooden boat shelters, declared a Site of Cultural Interest. These are small constructions made of wood and native bush branches for protecting and storing boats and llaüts, the traditional fishing vessels found on Ibiza and Formentera. The ones in Es Caló and Torrent de s’Alga are especially worth seeing.

There are the craft markets of San Francesc, La Savina, San Ferrán and La Mola. And Es Pujols, an evening market surrounded by a buzzing atmosphere.
