Beach Cala Major

The beach has a pier, on which many bathers spread their bath towels to bathe in the sun. In the summer the beach is very crowded, because it is connected to the center of Palma by public transport. It is an enclave where you can spend the whole holiday or even just a day at the sea. You can stop off in the restaurants with a rich gastronomic offer. On the sand of the beach you will find all services, such as showers, beach watch, and a wooden walkway for disabled guests, hammocks and umbrellas, and a buoys-bound area for water sports. In Cala Major you have an appointment with the art: here is the Pilar i Joan Miró Foundation. 

It takes up a large part of the work of Joan Miró, who lived for many years in Mallorca. From Palma (7.3 km) to Cala Major, you have to follow the signs to Portopí on the promenade of Palma. Look for the junctions. You can park your car in a parking lot with a parking meter. You can easily reach the beach by public transport.
