Beach Canyamel

It is located in the pretty town of Capdepera, in the tourist center of the same name; the beach offers all kinds of services and is ideal for families. The name has its origin, because in the 15th century this cultivation was introduced in the nearby fields. Sugar and by-products such as molasses were extracted from this cultivation. Apparently the cultivation was not very productive and was stopped after only seven years, but it gave its name to this pretty beach. The Torrrente de Canyamel, which irrigates this area, is the natural addition to this beach, and is the home for all types of seabirds that you can observe on your walk. You can reach this natural landscape of particular interest from Canyamel via the country road PM-4042. 

Nearby is also the impressive Cap Vermell (Red Cape), which in its interior impressed the Cuevas del Ermitaño caves (also caves of Artà), the personalities such as Alexandre Dumas or Jules Verne. No less important is the Canyamel Tower, formerly called Torre d'en Montsó; It served as a protection tower in the 13th century. 

You can easily reach the beach with your car and park your car or, if you prefer, you can reach the beach by public transport. From Capdepera it is about 6 km.
