Beach El Peñón

The coast of Palma offers surprises like this small popular sand beach opposite the former Fortí Torre d'en Pau military club. It was built in 1898 to defend the bay of Palma from possible attacks by the United States during the war of Cuba.

Playa del Peñón beach is located between Ciutat Jardí and the Punta de Sa Torre, and combines the necessary features to spend a pleasant morning at the seaside: fine sand, clean, little deep water and little wave. Next to the waves breaker you will find a popular restaurant. If you fancy a walk on the shore, you can walk to the neighboring Ciudad Jardí beach. It is separated from Peñón beach by a small tab called Paret Blanca.

To get to the beach from Palma (5.6 Km) you have to follow the road signs. You can park near the beach. You can easily reach the beach by bus or by bike. The cycle track accompanies a large part of the Bay of Palma.
