The Mediterranean paradise!
Formentor is a mythical enclave of Mallorca. Here, at the beginning of the twentieth century, a hotel was opened which still is operated today and in which personalities such as Winston Churchill or John Wayne have stayed and which has included literary events such as the Conversaciones de Formentor and the Premio Formentor Prize.
Both events have been revived in recent years. The beach of Formentor, also known as the Cala Pi de Sa Posada, is situated on the Formentor peninsula, and is a long sandy beach surrounded by pine trees, some of which stretch to the transparent waters. From the shore you have wonderful views of this coastal section, which is enhanced by the Formentor rocky islands. The beach has services such as hammocks and umbrellas, and a small bar with terrace next to a boat dock.
To reach the beach from Pollença (16.1 km), follow the road signs towards Port de Pollença and from there to Formentor. The road to the beach is winding and steep. Do not forget to take a stop at Mirador de Sa Creueta, with an amazing view of the vertical cliffs of Formentor.
You can park your car in the car park, which is at a charge of approximately 400 meters from the beach. In the summer you can reach the beach on an unforgettable boat trip from Port de Pollença or Port d'Alcúdia.
