Beach Punta de sa Galera

Punta de Sa Galera, also known as Sa Galera, is a beach about 50 meters long between Ses Escaletes and Punta Grossa, at the foot of the mountain Puig de Ses Planes (339 M).

An enclave full of maritime charm on a steep section of the Serra de Tramuntana, and World Heritage site of UNESCO. From the shores of this pebbly beach you can see a berth with old fishing sheds or escars, where the fishermen kept their boats and equipment. A quite lonely place, visited by the inhabitants, who love the tranquility, and by hikers.

You will discover one of the most geologically interesting areahs of Mallorca, and also one of the oldest, with an age of 300 million years and remains from the primary and secondary periods. You can reach the bay on a nice walk of about 30 minutes at Banyalbufar, where you need the right footwear and drinking water, because the beach does not provide services. Do not forget your diving glasses, because the seabed of rocks and Posidonia sea grass is rich in life.
