Conference Centre Palau de Congressos de Palma

Inspired by the Mediterranean waves, the gleaming sunlight and sandy beaches, the architect Patxi Mangado has created a space which is a flagship for sustainability.

Palma Convention Centre was built to provide Palma with a large multifunctional space which could host major conferences and congresses as well as cultural events such as concerts or exhibitions. Thanks to cooperation between the Balearic Islands Government, Palma City Council and Meliá Hotels International, the doors to the Palma Convention Centre were opened to the public in April, 2017.

Francisco Mangado, the chief architect for the project, managed to take full advantage of all of the attractions offered by Palma. Inspired by the Mediterranean waves, the gleaming sunlight and sandy beaches, Mangado has created a space which is a flagship for sustainability. Marés sandstone, typical of the Balearic Islands, padouk wood and aluminium combine in the unique design of a building which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Sustainable not only in design, but also in its management, committed to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.

Multifunctional spaces: 2 Auditoriums with capacity for 1.966 and 471 people, an expo area of 2.300 sq.m., 23 breakout rooms, a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the Palma Bay and underground parking.
