Cove Caló de sa Torre

Portopetro is the natural port of Santanyí. It is located in a deep depression which, further to the south, forms Caló de Sa Torre, a bay of 35 meters in length and 25 meters in width.

It consists of two small beaches with very fine sand and shallow water separated from a low rock barrier. The beach is in a residential area; it takes its name from the 17th century guardhouse, which served to warn the inhabitants of the attacks of the pirates, who used to call the coasts of Mallorca in former times. The beach does not provide any services; so we advise you to bring something to drink and to eat. In the late afternoon you can stroll through the port of Portopetro. In the port you can admire numerous traditional fishing boats or llaüts, the traditional sailing boats of the Mediterranean. On the beach promenade you will find numerous restaurants, some of which specialize in fish and seafood dishes.

To get to the beach from Santanyí (14 km) or the tourist center of Cala d'Or (6.3 km), take the road towards Portopetro; There you will find the signs to Caló de Sa Torre. The beach has a parking lot.
