A protected corner
Between Cala Mondragó and Cala de Sa Barca Trencada is a small beach protected by the winds.
Its width of just 25 meters is enough to enjoy the white sand and the extraordinarily transparent water. This small beach is part of de Mondragó Natural Park, in the east of Santanyí and north of Cala Figuera. This natural landscape and its surroundings offer you all the options of the south-east coast of Mallorca and the natural park. You can rest and enjoy the landscape and the sea breeze. Do not forget your diving glasses, however, because you can discover algae and many species of marine flora and fauna on the seabed. The ecological values of the natural park, with its more than 750 hectares, are enormous, with a great diversity of landscapes: pine forests and olive trees, juniper, cultivated fields, caves, gorges, a freshwater pond (S'Amarador) and another with salt water (Fonts de N 'Ali's). An entertaining and interesting landscape: we advise you to visit them in the summer during the early morning or late evening hours to avoid the great heat. We also to recommend comfortable shoes and lots of drinking.
To get to this beach you have to take the road from Santanyí to Portopetro (Ma-19) and leave the car at Cala de Sa Barca Trencada. The last 300 meters you have to walk on your pines shaded by pine trees. You can also walk 200 meters from Cala Mondragó on the coast.
