A nice sandy beach near Palma
The pretty Cala Comtessa or Comptessa beach has turquoise blue waters and white sandy beaches.
The beach is 100 meters long and 15 meters wide, and is located between the Punta des Bufador and the Illetes beach - together with this and the Es Fortí beach; it forms the tourist center and residential settlement Illetes. It forms a pretty coastal section, which is crowned by several rocky islands, such as Sa Caleta, the largest, which overlook the Bay of Palma. On the beach you will find restaurants with a rich gastronomic offer and showers, and a buoyed area for water sports such as paddle surfing, kayaking or light sailing boats. It is also a wonderful place to dive, with sea beds one hundred meters from the beach, covered with rocks and Posidonia. This is the marine plant that supplies the clean water of the Mediterranean with oxygen. Numerous boats moor opposite this beach to spend a day in a wonderful environment close to the port of Palma.
To reach the beach from Calvià (12.1 km) or Palma (12.4 km), you must follow the road signs. You can also easily reach the beach by public transport, because Illetes is very well connected to the center of the capital. The access to the beach is via a staircase, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view over this coastal section.
