Cove Gran

A deep and curvaceous indentation of the sea ends in Cala Gran, also known as Caló Gran; it is the largest beach of all in the tourist center of Cala d'Or.

It is a historic enclave: the Arab ships, which burnt down Santanyí in the 14th century, landed here. The beach is surrounded by low, vegetation-covered cliffs with isolated houses. The beach consists of fine white sand, with shallow, calm and transparent water. It is the ideal place to spend a beach day with the family and to explore the life between the rocks with the diving glasses. In the back of the beach there are several restaurants and a children's playground. In summer the beach has life guards and rental of hammocks and umbrellas.

To reach the beach from Santanyí (15.8 km) or Felanitx (15.4 km), follow the road signs to Cala d'Or. There you see the access to the beach well signposted. You can leave your car in the surrounding area. You can also easily reach the beach by public transport.
