A small bay with two beaches!

Cove Rotja

Despite its small size, Cala Rotja is a very special place, worth a visit, because it has two, completely different bathing beaches: on one hand, a beach with sand and small pebbles; on the other, a rocky beach with a comfortable staircase to get in and out of the sea.

The bay is surrounded by a vast, rocky coastline that connects with the beauty of the sea floor. The sea invites you to dive, snorkel or relax. The access to the beach is via a wooden staircase, and after an unforgettable bath in a crystal clear sea, we can rest in the shade of the vegetation that surrounds the bay. If we fancy a walk in the area, we can walk on the beach to the Torre de Canyamel tower. This protective structure has protected the Majorcan coast from attacks since the 13th century.

Cala Rotja is located nine kilometers from Artà (in the municipality of Capdepera) next to a settlement next to the Torrent de Canyamel gorge. We must go to the vía Calès, where we can park the car and take a small and pleasant walk to the bay.
