The La Misericordia building was constructed between the 18th and 19th centuries, and over the years it has housed different public institutions: the provincial council, the hospice, a geriatric residence, an orphanage and since 1989 the Council’s Cultural Centre.

The building has a variety of spaces that can house exhibitions. One of them is the large inner courtyard of La Misericordia, which measures 1,500 m². The chapel on the grounds, whose original structure and style have been left intact, houses an exhibition hall measuring 366 m². Plus, on the ground floor, first and second floors there are three rooms measuring 120 m² each.
