A must for foodies looking for quality and variety
Up to seventeen stands offer their best dishes, from oysters to omelet’s, pinchos, delicate pastries or tasty hamburger. It is your choice. And for afterwards, drinks and live performances. Would you like to miss it?
The San Juan Gastronomic market is located in a building built in 1905, where once the slaughterhouse of the city stood. Now it has reawakened to new and bustling life as a meeting point for foodies seeking quality and diversity, as well as offering a wide range of leisure activities: cinema, cafeteria, restaurants and bars.
Inside, the market is home to a large square with terraces, surrounded by seventeen stands with different specialties. You can enjoy Thai or Japanese cuisine, French pastry, oysters, llonguets (the typical Palma bread rolls), pinchos and Basque tapas, ham, scrambled eggs, hamburgers, croquettes, fideuás, meat dishes...
The market is open all year round; the opening hours are daily from noon to midnight, and until four o'clock in the morning on holidays and the weekends. This spectacular Art Nouveau building is a work of the famous architect Gaspar Bennasar. Its appearance has retained the charm, but the market has managed to renew itself; it has retained his spirit, but adapted to the new times.
