One of the oldest and most important markets on the island
Established by king Jaume II in 1306, it is one of the most important markets held on the island, and the only one with live animals.
The town of Sineu holds its weekly market every Wednesday morning. Established in 1306 by king Jaume II, it has historically been one of the most important of those that are held on the island. The stands are placed on the church square, on Fossar square and on several streets in the surrounding area. It is the only weekly market with live animals, but it also has fruits, vegetables, crafts, clothes, shoes, etc.
While the market is being held, many visitors stop in the bars to eat the Frit mallorquí, one of the traditional local cuisine dishes, for breakfast.
