The Interpretation Center of the Serra de Tramuntana Natural Landscape
The Ca s'Amitger Interpretation Center helps you to discover the peculiarities of Serra de Tramuntana, a world heritage. It is next to the Santuario de Lluc, and is the starting point for numerous excursions.
In order to know the Serra de Tramuntana, which was declared a World Heritage site by the UNESCO in 2011, it is necessary to visit the Ca s'Amitger Interpretation Center. This center offers a global and at the same time a detailed overview of the landscape, ethnological, cultural and natural values of the Sierra, which go far more than its own geographic extent.
The Interpretation Center is housed in an old, traditional stone building dating back to the 16th century, where the peasant of the Santuario de LLuc - "s'Amitger" - lived; he was responsible for the agricultural work of the sanctuary.
In this interpretation center you can visit a permanent exhibition. It shows with audiovisual material and other resources, such as the literary and artistic works of artists and writers inspired by the Sierra as well as traditional objects and tools, among others, the Mallorcan country life.
The interpretive center gives you a deep insight into the Sierra and will help you to enjoy all its values even better.
