Discover the best places to practise deep-water soloing on the island where this type of climbing was born
Among the many possibilities for active tourism that Majorca offers, deep-water soloing, also known as psicobloc, is a must for climbing enthusiasts. It was Majorcan climber Miquel Riera who came up with the concept and started the trend, attracting thousands of athletes and amateurs from all over the world. Over the years, Majorca has become a leading location for this type of climbing.
The island is full of places where you can try deep-water soloing: from the famous cliffs of Porto Pi, which are easy to access and ideal for beginners, to Cruz de Santa Ponça, Cova del Diable, Cala Ferrera or the mythical Es Pontàs, an extremely difficult route first achieved by Chris Sharma, one of the best climbers in the world.
