Museum Ca n'Alluny, Casa Museo de Robert Graves

The house maintains its original appearance and atmosphere. The visit provides information about the life and works of Graves, and it is possible to walk through the garden and visit the different rooms.

Robert Graves lived in Deià from 1929 until 1985. He is buried in the beautiful cemetery beside the church. Graves and his partner, Laura Riding, built their house, called ‘Ca n’Alluny’ (the distant house) in 1932. It is on the road from Deià to Sóller, approximately one kilometre away from Deià.

The house was purchased and conditioned by the Robert Graves Foundation. It was opened to the public in 2006. The house and garden still retain part of the original appearance and atmosphere: the furniture, decoration and even light fixtures are from that time.

It is possible to visit the kitchen, the living room, the printing room, the writer’s study, the study used by Laura Riding between 1932 and 1936 and the study of Beryl, Graves’ second wife.
