Museum Museu Balear de Ciències Naturals i Jardí Botànic

The Balearic Islands Museum of Natural Sciences of Sóller is housed in a beautiful modernist mansion, known as Camp d'en Prohom.

The Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences is located in a small Art Nouveau square dating from the early 20th century. It houses zoology, botany and geology collections from Mallorca. The lands around the building are the home to the Botanical Garden of Sóller, a centre where Mediterranean and especially Balearic Islands flora is conserved, researched and shared.

Inside, distributed through several rooms, are permanent and temporary exhibitions related to Mallorca’s geology, botany and zoology. One area of the museum that deserves special attention is the Botanic Garden situated in the gardens surrounding the mansion. The only one in the Balearic Islands, it displays numerous plant collections endemic to the Balearic and Canary Islands.

The building occupies about 400m2, of which 250m2 are devoted to exhibition space, on three floors. The museum has a conference hall provided with audiovisual equipment.
