The Balearic Islands are ideal for relaxing and disconnecting from your routine thanks to their quiet and well-kept natural surroundings, white-sand coves, crystal-clear waters and friendly locals. Another of its draws is its Mediterranean climate, which keeps the islands at an average annual temperature of 16ºC and provides 300 days of sunshine a year. However, as well as being a perfect relaxation spot, they are also perfect for working remotely for a while, holding meetings with your colleagues or working on a project, whether a business project... or a sports project.

Playing football in the Balearic Islands – why not?
The Balearic archipelago is a land of great sports players: tennis players Rafael Nadal and Carlos Moyá, basketball players Alba Torrens and Sergi Llull and footballers Patri Guijarro and Sergi Enrich are all from here.

In fact, RCD Mallorca currently plays in the First Division, competing with teams such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. UD Ibiza, meanwhile, is in the Second Division, and several teams from the archipelago compete in the Third Division.

As a result, the Islands feature an extensive network of sports infrastructure for training: there are six clubs with carefully maintained natural grass pitches, dozens with artificial turf (some of which are even FIFA-approved), modern and up-to-date facilities, physiotherapy services and gyms available for teams wishing to carry out exchanges, training camps or improvement clinics

What's more, your team won't have to worry about wasting time on transit: travelling distances are short around the islands, and you won't even have time to upload an Instagram story before you arrive at your hotel after an intense and productive day of training.

Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio (Majorca)
Located just 8 kilometres from Palma, sheltered by the Tramuntana mountain range and surrounded by nature, the large Antonio Asensio sports complex serves as a training ground for RCD Mallorca players and other visiting teams, such as Inter Milan, Chelsea, Sevilla FC and the Spanish and German national football teams.

It has four regulation pitches with natural grass and one with artificial grass, a specific training area for goalkeepers and all sorts of services: nine changing rooms, a players lounge, a press room, a gymnasium with a sauna and jacuzzi and everything else an athlete could need.

Majorca has two more football pitches with natural grass at the Nou Camp de Inca and at CE Poblense. Minorca, meanwhile, has the natural grass pitch at Sporting Mahonés, and there's also the very recently opened training ground for UD Ibiza, who opens its doors and those of its stadium, Can Misses, to teams who want to perfect their technique in its facilities while enjoying the incomparable beauty of Ibiza and Formentera.

Upcoming activities
Throughout the year, the Balearic Islands host various camps, sports meetings and exchanges aimed at promoting physical activity and sporting values among young children through football.

The Summer Camp Vicente del Bosque Mallorca has been held annually since 2014. This camp focuses on both education and physical activity, and features professionals with extensive experience in the world of professional sport and training.

Majorca is also the home of the grassroots football tournaments the East Mallorca Cup and East Mallorca Girls Cup, which host teams from all over the world with competitions in various locations around the island. What's more, from 2020, it will also host the Cruyff Court, a project created in memory of former FC Barcelona coach Johan Cruyff which aims to promote social inclusion through sport.

The options and reasons to go to Majorca to play football are endless. Pick your favourite and we'll be waiting for you with the ball ready on the pitch.
