The origins of this building are related to the foundation of university studies in Mallorca, under the name of Estudi General Lul•lià.

The latter would become the Luliana University of Mallorca in the 17th century. The building that stands today, designed by Gabriel Alomar, replaces the former building from the 1950s. The patio features a typical neo-baroque structure with rounded arches supported by Ionic columns. On the main floor, the windows which are divided by a mullion and frame are another key feature.
