Santa Eulària des Riu (Ibiza)

Santa Eulària des Riu is one of the most authentic and beautiful villages on Ibiza. It is located in a coastal area at the eastern end of the island and stands out for its tranquillity, its unique Mediterranean beauty that runs along its promenade. It also has a marina and a beautiful Roman bridge. The municipal district includes other charming picturesque villages, such as Sant Carles de Peralta, Santa Gertrudis de Fruitera and Puig d'en Valls.

Santa Eulària is home to the most famous street markets on Ibiza, including the famous Las Dalias and Es Canar, which are open to the public on Saturdays and Wednesdays, respectively.

One of the visits not to be missed is to the fortified church of Santa Eulària on top of Puig de Missa, which is one of the oldest churches on the island. The building, as well as being a centre of spiritual retreat, also served to protect the population in case of attack.  Next door is the Ethnographic Museum of Eivissa, which is also a highly recommended place to visit and, on the other side of the port, the avant-garde Conference Centre.

Santa Eulària is an ideal place to discover on foot at a leisurely pace. It has 46 kilometres of coastline and countless coves that look like swimming pools, with fine white sand and turquoise waters, some of them completely unspoilt. In addition, there are plenty of hiking and cycling trails for exploring the impressive, well-preserved natural environment, one of the main attractions of this part of the island.
