An environmental jewel in the Bay of Pollença
The s'Arenalet Nature Reserve is a 211 hectare wetland area in the bay of Pollença, one kilometer north of Alcúdia. It is ideal for a visit by bike (you can walk around the wetland in about two hours) and it is also accessible to children.
Be sure to have a rest on the route as you are in an ideal place to watch birds. Surely you will discover a cormorant dipping in a canal, or a shy pond rally, or a food-seeking heron, while high up a falcon draws its circles.
The area is also rich in plants, with some endemic, tamarisk forests, etc. And if you follow the path to Almadrava, you will discover the remains of the old Es Molí de Vent Talaoits.
