Beach Ca'n Picafort

It is the most popular touristic, residential and urban of this municipality, and one of the oldest of the bay of Alcúdia, including the marina with the same name and the camping area Platja Blava, the only one in Majorca together with Colònia de Sant Pere.

This crowded and very long beach with fine-grained golden sand has the port facilities on the right side and the quiet beaches of Casetes des Capellans and es Comú on the left. The writer Concha Alós set her novel Las hogueras, which won the Premio Planeta in 1964, in the quiet Can Picafort at the end of the fifties of the 20th century.

The navigators must know that the entrance to Club Esportiu Can Picafort is a bit complicated, especially passing the breakwater, and at 150 metres from here there is a sandbank, known as Escull de Can Barret, with a buoy, which you have to avoid.

The accessibility by car is easy following the signs. The private car might be left in the streets nearby, and the nearest bus stop is located at 100 metres.
