Between sand and rocks
Cala Barques is the largest of the four bays on the coastal section known as Cala Sant Vicenç.
The orientation of this beach places him especially in the Tramuntana wind (north wind); this wind blows only a few days in the summer. On these days we have to follow the instructions of the beach watch. The fine sand of the beach and its cool and clean water offer us many quiet days, where we can swim, swim, dive or simply relax on the sand without forgetting the sunshade and the sun protection.
Although the beach is located in a tourist center, its surroundings are of great beauty. When we look east, we see the imposing Cavall Bernat mountain range, with rugged walls of more than 300 meters high, a very wild and hardly visited area, where we can penetrate from the bay when we have the necessary stamina and the right footwear And we will pay the necessary attention to this end of the Serra de Tramuntana and the mountains of Majorca.
Access to the beach is easy: from Pollença or the port, follow the signs to Cala Sant Vicenç. The beach has free parking, and the access from the Urbanización is via a staircase.
