13th century temple
The Santa Anna Oratory is a 13th century structure designed by Diego Español. In the oldest documentary sources, it is called Santa Maria de la Torre, and it is located between Alcúdia and its port. In 2004 it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest (ACI).
It is one of the best-preserved examples of a repopulation church on Mallorca. It is rectangular in layout with a single nave covered by a pitched roof held up by three Gothic arches. The facade has an image of the Virgin of La Bonanova over the entrance, finished with a semicircular arch and topped by a bell gable. The church has been restored four times, the last time in 1980.
