Restaurant Celler Can Amer

José Torrens and Antonia Cantallops reopened the doors of Ca’n Amer on 24th July 1970 as owners of this restaurant business. José Torrens was head waiter, a post he had held since 1956 in Sa Travessa, and Antonia Cantallops was the cook.

Just 3 years later the couple received their first acknowledgement from Inca Town Council for their achievement of recovering and exalting both the ‘celler’ and Mallorcan cuisine.

This diploma in the year 1973 was followed by a long line of mentions by the public authorities, outstandingly:
1982 Bronze Medal from the Ministry of Transport
1989 Honorary Victuallers, Spanish Federation of Hotels and Restaurants
1990 Silver Medal of Tourism Merit, Tourist Board
1992 Restaurant chosen to represent the Balearic Islands in the Spanish pavilion of the Universal Expo of Seville
2006 Silver Cutlery Award
2007 Best Wine List in Mallorca, Mallorca Council
2007 Ramon Llull Prize for José Torrens, for a lifetime dedicated to Mallorcan gastronomy.

In the year 1990 Tomeu Torrens, the couple’s son, joined them as cook and in 1999 he took over the running of the business and became the new owner of Celler Ca’n Amer. In 2005 we began the meals services for companies, event and private functions under the registered trademark “Vida Catering”.
