The best sunset of Formentera
If someone tells you that you cannot leave Formentera without having seen Cala Saona, it is a good piece of advice. It is a small untouched beach in the west of the island, just 5 km from the capital Sant Francesc Xavier.
The beach is bordered by the cliffs of Punta Rosa, and it is part of the Cap Alt territory of, a natural area of particular interest. With incredible turquoise water and an enviable calm, Cala Saona has all the necessary services: sun loungers, umbrellas, restaurant, chiringuito (beach bar) ... The access to the beach is easy.
You can easily reach the beach by bicycle, or by car, a scooter or the public transport. On the beach you will find small wooden piers which sprinkle the whole coast of the island and give it its own character. Thanks to the orientation of the beach, every evening a magical show takes place. People arrive at this beach to say good-bye to the day and watch the sun sunk in the sea.
