Ibiza, a land of wines and brandy

If you are a wine lover, Ibiza has a rich selection of autochthonous wines. Ibiza's wine cellars have been producing and exporting wines of the highest quality since the 90s, with the essence of the Mediterranean to prove to the rest of the world that Ibiza is something more than just parties and beaches.

This geographical indication produces some outstanding red wines made from the Monastrell grape variety, which is very suited to the island. These are wines of a cherry-red colour, bright and transparent, with predominant aromas of ripe fruit. The most notable white wines are those made with Macabeo as the main variety, with a good lemon or straw-yellow colour, with ripe fruit (apple) and floral aromas.

In addition to the wines, excellent brandies are also produced. They are prepared by hand according to ancient recipes, like the famous Hierbas Ibicencas on the basis of anise, the frígola - made with the thyme flower - the palo or absinthe.

One way to get to know the wines and brandies is to visit one of the wine cellars or production sites; this is a slightly different plan, with which you can taste the products and discover a part of the Mediterranean paradise.
