What can you do in Mallorca in August?
The viewpoint of Son Marroig is one of the viewpoints with the most spectacular views of Mallorca. It is located on the Son Marroig estate, formerly owned by Archduke Lluís Salvador de Austria, and offers unique views of the Sa Foradada peninsula.
We recommend a stop at the mirador restaurant to enjoy the local landscape and taste typical Mallorcan delicacies. You can also visit the Casa Museo de Son Marroig, one of the most emblematic places in the Balearic Islands.
If you are on the island at the beginning of August you cannot miss the recreation of the battle of the Moors and Christians in Pollença.
The festival begins in the early morning of 2 August with the intonation of the Alborada and then a solemn mass and the traditional dance of the Cossiers.
During the afternoon, the representation of the battle of 1860 begins in the Almoina square between the Christian side, dressed in white, and the Moorish pirates dressed in different colours.
The battle ends in St. George's Church and the victory over the enemies is celebrated by singing a Tedeum (song of thanksgiving) in gratitude for the triumph achieved.
