Do not wait any longer to get to know this wonderful destination of sea, mountain and culture.
Pilar de la Mola is located in the east of Formentera. It is the island´s highest point. This plain with impressive cliffs is a must for all travellers. Go to Caló de Sant Agustí and follow the road to the Mirador de Formentera viewpoint.
From here you can see the beauty of the island with tranquillity. Look around and do not miss the vineyards, the cultivated fields fenced by stone walls to protect them from the cattle, and the water reservoirs that catch the rain for the irrigation of the fields.
Write down the main sights, such as the Virgen del Pilar church from the 7th century, and the Faro de la Mola lighthouse, on a 200 meter high cliff. From here you have a wonderful view. The nearby Molí Vell is an old oil mill with a history of two centuries.
Finish the route on the emblematic Hippy Market; it is held every Wednesday and Sunday in the summer; take a souvenir of natural material with you. The name of the market comes from the hippies that settled on the island in the mid-1960s.
