Events Feria Gastronómica del Pulpo de Portocolom

In June, this small fishing town of Felanitx celebrates one of its most important events, while dozens of bars and restaurants prepare a large number of squid dishes, from traditional recipes to gourmet combinations in the form of tapas or tasty dishes- a delicious excuse to enjoy the fisherman's ambience of Portocolom.

For three days in June, Portocolom invites you to taste the best squid, such as the traditional frit de pop (fried squid), squid with onions, the simple and delicious grilled squid, or the squid coca. You will also find bars that prepare somehow more avant-garde and creative combinations, such as the black risotto with squid. You will also have the chance to enjoy music performances of all genres on the warm summer seaside.

Portocolom is an eminent fishing village in which you will fall in love. The town is located on the shore of one of the largest natural harbors in the Balearic Islands and is the port of Felanitx, although both resorts are 18 km away. The large bay is one of the most beautiful landscapes on the east coast of the island, and it has also retained its local flair. Each walk along the sea will allow you to enjoy the simplicity of the houses and the escars, sheds where the fishermen keep their boats - usually lulls and implements. The llaüts are the traditional sailing boats of the Mediterranean, but today they mostly work with diesel. In the historical center, you will find the charming 19th century Mare de Déu del Carme church, and the harbor, a large number of rice, fish and crustacean specialties. The fish is fished by the local fleet.
