Day 1: Wine tourism in Binissalem

The wine culture is deeply rooted in Binissalem, a majestic town with large manor houses made of visible stone. Here, history, landscape and wine culture intertwine to offer a magical experience. It was the first region on the island to obtain a Denomination of Origin (DO), so it is the perfect destination for wine and nature lovers.

Start your tour in the emblematic Plaza de la Iglesia, where you can admire the impressive architecture of the Parish Church of Santa María de Robines. Then take Carrer de la Concepció and head west.

Continue through the narrow streets of the old town, where you will see traditional stone houses and small local shops. Be sure to stop at one of the bakeries to try a typical ensaimada or fig bread.

Leaving the old town, head north along the Camí des Raiguer. This trail will take you through beautiful rural landscapes and extensive vineyards. Enjoy the fresh air and the panoramic views of the Serra de Tramuntana in the background. Here we find some of the most renowned wineries in Mallorca. We recommend you to visit at least one of the following:

Ca'n Fumat winery: Limited edition wines made using traditional methods from local varieties such as mantonegro, moll and callet.

Bodega Ca'n Verdura Viticultors: After six generations growing Binissalem's native varieties, Ca'n Verdura offers local wines.

José Luis Ferrer Winery: Modernity and tradition come together in this 85-year-old winery run by the fourth generation.

Vins Nadal Winery: One of the oldest in the region, famous for its high quality red wines since 1932.

After the visit to the wineries, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Many of them offer menus paired with the wines of the region, allowing you to enjoy Mallorca's gastronomy at its best. To finish your route, return to the centre of Binissalem along the Camí Vell de Muro. Here, you can relax in one of the squares, have a coffee and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village.

Day 2: Consell, a walk among almond trees and vineyards

Set in the foothills of the majestic Serra de Tramuntana, Consell promises a route full of bucolic landscapes, full of beautiful almond trees and vineyards, ideal for a cycle-tourism route.

Start your tour in the Plaza Mayor of Consell, the heart of the town. Then head south along Carrer Nou to immerse yourself in the calm and peaceful atmosphere of this charming village in the heart of Mallorca. On this road you will find fields of almond trees that offer spectacular scenery, especially during the spring blossom. Enjoy the fresh scent and picturesque views while cycling.

Back in Consell, very close to the Plaça Major, we will visit the Ribas Winery, one of the oldest in Mallorca, although it is not currently under the DO. It was founded in 1711 and has made laudable efforts to recover old grape varieties. Book a guided tour and enjoy a tasting of their exceptional wines.

After the visit to the winery, we recommend a stop at one of the local restaurants in Consell. Many of them offer Mallorca's traditional dishes paired with wines from the region, perfect for recharging your batteries and enjoying the local gastronomy.

And if visit coincides on a Sunday, drop by the Mercat dels Encants, a flea market of antique and second-hand objects. You'll find unique handcrafted furniture, lamps, frames and paintings, wicker baskets and unique pieces of glass handicrafts typical of Mallorca. It is the perfect place to buy rustic pieces with lots of charm.

Day 3: Santa Maria del Camí: wine, history and gastronomy

In the shelter of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, between Marratxí and Binissalem, lies the charming village of Santa Maria del Camí, an essential destination for lovers of good wine and Mallorcan gastronomy.

Start your tour in the Plaça Nova, in the centre of the town. A market selling local products is held here on Sundays and is an unmissable attraction. If you happen to be here, take the opportunity to explore the stalls offering fruit, vegetables, clothing, footwear and handicrafts. Then, from the Plaça Nova, head towards the Church of Santa Maria, which dates back to the early 13th century. Continue to the Convent del Marquès, a haven of peace and beauty. Stroll through its cloister and gardens, considered one of the most beautiful on the island.

From the convent, take the Camino de Coanegra through beautiful vineyards. This route is ideal for enjoying the countryside and panoramic views of the Serra de Tramuntana.

Continue your route to one of the prestigious local wineries. You have two excellent options:

Celler Jaume de Puntiró: Founded in 1980, this family winery is known for its organic wines and its commitment to tradition. Take a guided tour to learn about their winemaking process and to taste some of their most outstanding wines.

Celler Sebastià Pastor: With more than 80 years of history, this winery specialises in producing high quality wines using local grape varieties. Enjoy a guided tour and taste their exquisite wines.

After the visit to the winery, stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants in Santa Maria del Camí. We recommend you try the variats, the tapa of tapas: a selection of typical Mallorcan tapas for experiencing the best of the local gastronomy all at once.

Day 4: Discover Santa Eugènia

Santa Eugenia is the fourth stop on our wine route through inland Mallorca. Nestled in the agricultural area known as Pla de Mallorca and at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, this charming inland village is ideal for finding the serenity and warmth of the agricultural landscape.

Start your tour in the heart of Santa Eugenia. Its narrow streets, stone houses and green shutters are the essence of a typical Mallorcan inland village. From here, head north along Calle Major. Take the road to Ses Alqueries, one of the small villages that form part of the municipality. Continue towards Ses Coves and Ses Olleries, enjoying the rural landscape and the tranquillity that each of these places offers. If you would like to learn more, the town council offers cultural routes that reveal the history and charm of these villages.

From Ses Olleries, follow the signs to Puig de Son Seguí. This route takes you along nature trails to see spectacular panoramic views of the region. If you have time, take the opportunity to visit the Cova de Lourdes, another point of natural interest in the area. Although you will have to leave your bike behind and climb... 96 steps! But we promise it's worth it.

Jump back on your bike and continue your route to the Taujana Winery, one of the region's wine gems. This winery is known for its commitment to traditional winemaking techniques. Take part in a guided tour to learn about their production process and taste some of their most representative wines.

After the tour and the effort, especially if you have decided to tackle the 96 steps at Cova de Lourdes, you'll need to recharge your batteries. We suggest you make your way back to Santa Eugenia and have lunch at one of the restaurants in this charming town. Why not sample some traditional Mallorcan cuisine and discover new pairings with local wines?

Day 5: Sencelles: archaeology, heritage and wine

Sencelles is a small country village with just over 3,000 inhabitants located a few kilometres from Inca, the European leather capital. This is the last stop on your sustainable wine tourism route in Mallorca. Authentic and full of history, Sencelles promises to put the finishing touch to this experience.

Start your tour in the Plaza de la Iglesia de Sant Pere, an emblematic place in the heart of Sencelles. Experience the narrow streets and stone houses typical of Mallorcan inland architecture and cycle west to reach the talayot of Son Fred, one of the most important archaeological sites in Mallorca. This site, inhabited more than 1,000 years BC, offers a fascinating glimpse into the island's prehistoric past.

From Son Fred, cycle to the Sanctuary of Son Corró, a major archaeological site where you can see the remains of an ancient Post-Ayotic sanctuary. This is the perfect place to immerse yourself in Mallorca's ancient history and appreciate the beauty of the natural surroundings.

From this point on, we recommend you visit some of the wineries in the municipality of Sencelles and the surrounding area, which, although they are located in the adjoining municipalities, are very easy to visit by bicycle. Choose a guided tour, where you can learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a tasting of their best products. You have several options to choose from:

Celler Ca Sa Padrina: Known for its production of traditional wines using time-honoured techniques.

Celler Can Ramis: A family-run winery offering an authentic experience and high quality wines.

Bodega Biniagual: In the municipality of Binissalem, it stands out for its picturesque surroundings and its wines made from local grape varieties.

Antonio Nadal Ros winery and vineyards: Also in Binissalem, it is known for its expertise in the Mallorcan winemaking tradition and its excellent wines.

Santa Catarina Winery: On the Sencelles - Inca road, famous for its innovative wines and its focus on sustainability.

To put the finishing touch to your sustainable wine route, and as we have done at each stage, we recommend you return to the starting point of the route and choose one of the local restaurants to recharge your batteries. We hope you enjoyed your trip!
