Beach Cala Tirant

It is a spectacular sandy beach of about 90 meters in length next to the urbanization Urbanización Platges de Fornells, with two sections for bathing, separated from a small elevation. This elevation can be overcome on a staircase. In the back part of the beach there is a beautiful wetland area and a wide dunes system, where many animal and plant species live. The wetland area can be entered via a wooden platform. On the bank of fine sand, the remains of the Posidonia are often accumulated; this is the sea plant, which bears flowers and fruits, and forms the great submarine meadows, in which numerous species are propagated. Cala Tirant does not have any services, but the settlement offers bars and restaurants with a rich gastronomic offer and a wonderful vantage point with nice panoramic views of the Cape Fornells and Cavalleria. 

To reach the beach from Es Mercadal (11.2 km), follow the road signs to Fornells and the junction for Platges de Fornells. You can park your car near the beach.
