Beach Son Bou

Son Bou, also known as Platges de Son Bou, is located between the Punta Rodona, on the Torre Esfondrada, a 19th century watchtower, and the Cap de ses Penyes, next to the settlements of Bou and Torre Solí Nou.

In the background are a huge dune system and the important Son Bou wetland, where many migratory birds rush during their travels; the wetland is protected. You will see the longest beach of Menorca with its 2,400 meters. The beach is open all the way to the sea and offers a view of the Escull de sa Galera. A wonderful place where you can enjoy long walks along the shore all year long. In the summer it is one of the best visited beaches of Menorca. Many families visit the beach; they like the many services and the shallow, crystal-clear water with light-flooded sea beds.

To get to the beach from Es Mercadal (16.2 Km), follow the Me-1 road towards Alaior and take the signposted junction to Son Bou. In summer, you can easily reach the beach by public transport.
