Enter the island´s wildest landscape
Menorca's northern coast has landscapes of a beauty that you will forever fall in love with. You will discover landscapes modelled in red clay or black slate like the cliffs around the lonely lighthouse of Favàritx, in the midst of a lunar landscape. A whole string of virgin bays and transparent water await you. Depending on how the sun is, the water takes on a turquoise or emerald green colour, as in the bays of Cala Tortuga, Cala Pregonda or the Algaiarens beaches.
You can reach some of the secluded spots on the Camí de Cavalls (Horse Trail). And you should not miss a visit to the main wetland area of the Balearic Islands, the S'Albufera of the Grau Natural Park. It is a huge wetland area where thousands of birds rest on their intercontinental journeys. You will also know fishermen´ villages that have retained their traditional charm, such as Fornells, famous for its extraordinary calderetas de langosta (lobster soup).
